Abstract

The change regulation of sample interval in sector scan TWS radar is discussed. Based on the interval change regulation resulting from the antenna is moving to-and fro, the interval filtering and prediction equation for tracking target and track managing, system in sector scan TWS radar are developed, α-β filtering and predicting formula in polar coordinates for sector scan radar is established. The estimate error in target tracking with rectangular gate is analyzed, it is indicated that the target angle will affect the tracking error, and the means for compensating this error is developed. According to the relation between tracking error and filter gain, a method of calculating the α-β filter gain in sector scan is presented. The results of simulations are in agreement with the theoretical analysis, the range predicting error is effectively reduced by this method.
