T1 - The construction and practice of integration cultivation mechanism for innovative talents in CS discipline

N2 - Along with the imperatives of Chinese education strategy and the practical requirements of our university (Beijing Institute of Technology, BIT)'s Double-First Class development blueprint, the cultivation of innovative talents becomes even more important. Since more than a decade of professional accumulation and talent training, school of computer science & technology has explored and gradually practiced an Integration Cultivation Mechanism for Innovative Talents in CS Discipline, namely ICM4IT. This paper introduces ICM4IT from the five aspects in details. That is, idea (Outcomes-Based Education, OBE), mechanism (Bachelor-Master- PhD penetration cultivation), mode (Multi-layer/mode/platform internationalization), practice (MOOC/SPOC-based online & offline teaching), support (research & education coordination). Education data shows that ICM4IT in CS-discipline at BIT has achieved remarkable achievements. CS ranking enters A-Class according to results of Discipline Evaluation in National Colleges and Universities announced on Dec 28, 2017. Furthermore, authors also share the experiences of above five parts during the implementation processes, as well as their thinking of solving emerging issues under the New Engineering Discipline.
