Shi Shumin, PhD, Associate Professor, Master tutor, Visiting Scholar at University of California, Berkeley (2015-2016).
His research interests include machine translation, fuzzy semantic computing, social computing and application of natural language processing. In 2009, he was transferred from the Computer Language Information Engineering Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to the School of Computer Science of Beijing Institute of Technology.
After arriving at school, he has presided over or participated in key projects of National Natural Science Foundation, surface projects, and youth funds; National Ministry of Science and Technology 973 plan, 863 plan, science and technology support plan; More than 10 national or provincial level scientific research projects such as basic scientific research and national defense pre-research of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. At the same time, he presided over a number of special funds for basic scientific research in universities financed by the central government, the Beijing Institute of Technology Outstanding Young Teachers' funding program, basic scientific research fund projects and horizontal projects. Published more than 20 academic papers in SCI/EI and international journals, and obtained 8 patents; Won 2 science and technology awards such as the first Prize of Beijing Science and Technology, and 3 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements appraisal; He has compiled 4 teaching materials and won 1 first prize of provincial and ministerial teaching. He has successively won the titles of National Excellent Science and Technology Teacher, Beijing Excellent Tutor, Beijing University of Technology Excellent Tutor of Student innovation project, "Sanyu Advanced Individual" and excellent class teacher.
