Abstract

A car is a complicated nonlinear dynamical model, and it is extremely important to study road roughness in time domain. Theory of road roughness model based on rational function was described in this paper. Simulation programs were compiled with Matlab software, and the results were compared with the same class of standard power spectral density. Effects, different of window functions on the same data fitting of the power spectral density, were discussed and outcomes were compared. Contrasted with other simulation methods, method based on rational function is very convenient to use Matlab/simulink module, and control strategy is easy to validate. Overall, the method is of robustness, and it can provide reliable road surface signal for vehicle control module and indoor bench.
