Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Beijing Institute of Technology, expert in vehicle electrification, "National Advanced Worker", and one of the "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Figures of Beijing Creation". Devoted to the research on the integration and drive theory of new energy vehicles, the development of key technologies, and engineering applications. Proposed and established the systems engineering technology systems for Chinese electric vehicles, charging/swapping station systems, and the Internet of Vehicles. Founded the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles, the Beijing Collaborative Innovation Center for Electric Vehicles of the "National 2011 Plan", and the National Monitoring and Management Platform for New Energy Vehicles. Currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering, Advisor to the Beijing Municipal Government, and the Head of the Technical Expert Group in the field of new energy vehicles for the Science and Technology Winter Olympics. Previously served as an expert of the National New Energy Vehicle Expert Group, Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles, and Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology.

Education

January 1982: Graduated from Hunan University and was admitted to the Vehicle Engineering Department of Beijing Institute of Technology (renamed Beijing Institute of Technology in 1988).
August 1984: Graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology with a Master's degree in Vehicle Engineering, and then continued to pursue a Doctoral degree at the same school.
August 1987 - May 1989: Conducted joint training at the Vehicle Research Institute of Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.
August 1989: Obtained a Doctoral degree in Vehicle Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology.

Professional Experience

September 1989 - June 1990: Lecturer in the Vibration Research Laboratory, School of Vehicle Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology.
June 1994: Professor and Director of the Electric Vehicle Technology Development Center of the School of Vehicle Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology and the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (until April 1997).
May 1997: Vice Dean, Center Director, and Professor of the School of Vehicle and Traffic Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology and the Electric Vehicle Technology Development Center of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (until May 1998).
May 1998: Dean, Center Director, and Professor of the School of Vehicle and Traffic Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology and the Electric Vehicle Technology Development Center of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (until March 1999). In the same year, received the Excellent Young Teachers Fund of the Ministry of Education.
April 1999: Dean, Center Director, and Professor of the School of Vehicle and Traffic Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology and the Electric Vehicle Engineering Technology Center (until July 2002). June 2, 2015: Successfully entered the second round of selection for the valid candidates of the 2015 academician election of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
February 2016: Director and Professor of the School of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles, and the Beijing Collaborative Innovation Center for Electric Vehicles, Beijing Institute of Technology (until September 2016). In October, served as Director and Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology, the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles, the Beijing Collaborative Innovation Center for Electric Vehicles, and the National Monitoring Platform for New Energy Vehicle Operation.
June 16, 2017: Successfully entered the second round of selection for the valid candidates of the 2017 academician election of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. On November 27, elected as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (Mechanical and Transport Engineering Division).
April 7, 2023: Co-Chairman of the China Automotive R & D Software Industry Innovation Alliance.

Research Achievement

Published 8 books and over 200 academic papers. As the first finisher, won 2 Second Prizes of the National Technological Invention Award, 1 Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize, and multiple provincial and ministerial awards.
