Abstract

Based on dynamic simulation and finite element analysis, this paper studies the effect of electro-mechanical coupling on the dynamic characteristics of a crankshaft used in ISG HEV. First, a dynamic model of an electro-mechanical coupling shaft system including flexible crankshaft is built. Then a qualitative analysis of the dynamic property of crankshaft was performed, when the ISG motor worked at assistant pushing mode and power generating mode and when the ISG motor has not coupled to the crankshaft of the engine. It is found that there was no obvious difference on torsional vibration performance of the electromechanical coupling shaft system. But the bending stress of the crankshaft changed a lot, when the flywheel was superseded by the ISG rotor. The results are useful for designing the electromechanical coupling shaft system of a hybrid electric vehicle.
