Abstract

In passive radar system, multipath components including direct wave heavily degrades the performance of target detecting. This paper is focused on adaptive multipath cancellation algorithm in passive radar. In order to evaluate the level of cancellation required, the self-ambiguity of FM is analyzed, and the necessary minimum ratio of interference suppressed is brought forward. According to the similarity of multipath model and FIR filter, high order adaptive filter is introduced to suppress interference from far distance obstacles. Simulation and field experiments are carried out to verify its performance and feasibility.
