Dr. Sun received a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Science and Technology (2010) and a Master's degree in physical Electronics (2012) from Harbin Institute of Technology, and a doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering (2020) from the University of Virginia, USA. He then did postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis. In July 2022, Dr. Sun Naidi joined the School of Medical Technology of Beijing Institute of Technology full-time as a pre-appointed assistant professor.
Dr. Sun has long been engaged in the development of multi-parameter photoacoustic microscopes for high-resolution structure, function, and metabolism in vivo, and their biomedical applications in many contexts such as cardiovascular disease, renal science, brain neuroscience, and cancer. As a major or important participant in more than ten scientific research projects, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) foundation, the American Heart Association (AHA) foundation, and has maintained a long-term cooperative relationship with AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical company.
So far, he has published more than 20 SCI academic papers with an H-factor of 7. Including Kidney International, IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, Neuroimage, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Biomedical Optics Express et al., 476 citations in total. Invited to co-write The Vasculome: From Many, One, published by Elsevier Science.
Dr. Naidi Sun is currently a Member of the International Society for Optoelectronic Engineering (SPIE) and the American Heart Association (AHA), and serves on the Light: Science & Application, Biomedical Optics Express, Scientific Report and other journal reviews.

· A new generation of photoacoustic imaging with high spatiotemporal resolution, high penetration depth and high functional/molecular contrast
· Multi-modal imaging combined with optical, photoacoustic and ultrasonic methods
