Personal Profile:
Gong Lin, male, born in 1979, Member of the Communist Party of China, Doctor, associate professor, Deputy Dean of the School of Machinery and Vehicles, Beijing Institute of Technology. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2001. In March 2006, he received his doctorate degree in Mechanical manufacturing and automation from Beijing Institute of Technology. In March 2006, he stayed to teach in Beijing Institute of Technology. In June 2016, he was appointed vice president of the School of Machinery and Vehicles. From 2009 to 2011, he held a temporary post in the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California from 2013 to 2014.
His main research areas include complex system innovation design, big data analysis, knowledge engineering, statistical optimization, etc. The main teaching directions include system innovation theory and method, engineering management (all in English), applied statistics, etc. As the person in charge, he presided over more than 10 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, national key research and development projects, major projects of the National Defense Science and Industry Administration, technical foundation projects of the National Defense Science and Industry Administration, projects of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and horizontal projects. Participated in the National Natural Science Foundation projects, basic scientific research projects of the State Administration of Science and Industry for National Defense, more than 10 horizontal projects, etc. Write a textbook as the first author. As the first inventor, he was granted 3 patents. Editor-in-chief of two industry standards. He has published more than 40 papers in domestic and foreign journals and international conferences, including more than 30 papers indexed by SCI/EI. Won the third prize of National defense science and technology progress 1. Selected into the Beijing University Young Talents Program. He has served as Keynote Chair and Session Chair at several international conferences and is currently a Council member of the Industrial Engineering and Management Research Institute of the Institute of Management Science and Engineering.
Research direction: The main research fields are complex system innovation design, big data analysis, knowledge engineering, statistical optimization, etc., including the following three directions: (1) Computational intelligent design: Characterizes, analyzes, mines and evaluates a large amount of data generated in the process of complex product design, such as requirements, functions, behaviors and structures, to support design recommendation, evaluation and optimization, and realize intelligent design.
(2) Innovative design based on graph/network theory: Aiming at the universality of correlation among complex product design elements, an innovative design method based on knowledge graph and network theory is proposed, taking demand, product and patent as research objects.
(3) New models of design and intelligent manufacturing: It mainly focuses on the research of models, theories, methods and applications of new models and cutting-edge technologies emerging in the field of design and manufacturing, such as crowdsourcing design, smart factory, additive manufacturing, etc.
