Study of vibration for spur gears of tooth profile modification and experimental validation of modification method

摘要

In this paper, considering time-varying stiffness and tooth profile modification,a 6 degree of freedom (DOF) lateral-torsional coupled nonlinear dynamic model of one-stage gears system is established. Firstly, simulation analyses of dynamic model are performed for gears of non-modification and tooth profile modification respectively. Secondly, the experiment is carried out for both of them. Vibration acceleration of gearbox, rev and torque of transmission shafts are tested. Finally, the results of simulation and test are compared to validate the accuracies of dynamic model and modification method, and then the root causes of vibration are also studied. In conclusion, under the low-speed and light-load condition, the vibration amplitudes are enhanced by modification, but for high-speed and heavy-load condition, the gear vibration amplitudes are reduced greatly. The optimum modification can effectively slow mutation of meshing stiffness and reduce the dynamic load of gear.
