N2 - Complex amplitude modulation is an important technology to control the wavefront arbitrary, which is widely used in many optics field. It is reviewed in this paper, and the basic principles are introduced and the features of the methods are discussed. Though there are still some disadvantages in these modulation methods, because of offering the more flexibilities, it is believed that complex amplitude modulation plays more significant role in optics.
