Abstract
The steering resistance characteristic of wheeled skid-steering vehicle is studied, and the interaction of tire-ground is analyzed by using the discrete element method (DEM). A micromechanical model for lateral interaction of tire and ground is established by using PFC2D software, and the relationship of resistance-relative slip velocity and resistance-sag depth is simulated. The fitting formula of skid-steering resistance coefficient is given. The result shows that the bulldozing resistance between tire and ground is much higher than friction force.
