Abstract

Combining the Wigner-Ville distribution with the Hough transform and based on the line integral, the generalized and closed representation of Wigner-Ville-Hough (WVH) transform was derived for the time-varying signal analysis, mainly for chirp signal, which directly translates the chirp signal representation from the time domain to the parameter space. The WVH transform can detect the existence of the chirp signal and estimate the parameters of the chirp signal, including the mean frequency and chirp rate. The validity of the WVH transform was verified by the simulated echo signal of moving targets with the synthetic aperture radar (SAR). Compared with conventional WVD-HT method, the WVH transform simplifies the processing procedure.
