Abstract
The status and progress of solid fuel regression rate in scramjet combustion were elaborated, respectively. The progress and difficulties on regression rate was discussed, including type of solid fuel, combustion configuration, theoretical prediction model, numerical simulation and experimental analysis. The experience and methods from ramjet, thermal protection, insulation ablation can be used in solid fuel scramjet. The following perspectives were proposed: (1) thermal behavior of solid fuel under supersonic flow, heat and mass transfer process should be paid more attention; (2) research on characteristic of regression rate should be explored in depth; (3) the software should be developed and experiments should be conducted systematically. The objective of this work is to provide a reference for research in this field.
