From September 1996 to December 2000, he received his Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Propulsion Theory and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University. From September 1983 to March 1986, he obtained a master's degree in solid rocket Engine from Beijing Institute of Technology. From September 1979 to August 1983, he received his Bachelor's degree in solid Rocket Engine from Beijing Institute of Technology.
