Abstract

Quatum dot (QD), also called nanocrystal, is a kind of nanoparticle with a diameter of 1~10 nm, consisting of II-VI and III-V elements. Its continous energy levels get to be separated energy levels because of the quantum-confined effect of charges and holes, and it can emit light after excitation. The emission spectra of QD can be tuned by adjusting its diameter. In this paper, the research progresses of quantum dots-based WLED are reviewed from the points of electroluminescence and photoluminescence of QD.
