Abstract

By using torque rheometer, the rheological behaviors of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer binder with five different hard segment contents have been investigated under different processing conditions. The mechanical property of processed thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer binder has also been characterized. The results show that the processing conditions have remarkable effects on the rheological property and mechanical property of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer binder. Increasing the processing temperature and rotating speed would decrease greatly the steady-state torque of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer binder. And the tensile strength would lower with the increase of processing temperature and rotating speed, while its elongation rate increases.
