Abstract

The relationship between the linear canonical transform power spectrum and signal's phase differentiation operation has been investigated. Based on this relationship, a novel method for solving the instantaneous frequency estimation problem is proposed. The advantage of this method is demonstrated by two examples, namely, signals with and without noise. The proposed method is non-iterative, and it does not need projection or peak-searching.
