Abstract

The curing reaction and the mechanical performance of Hyperbranched polymer (HBP)/Epoxy/Anhydride curing systems were researched in this article. The characteristics of curing behaviors and the affection of content and generation of HBP on toughness and strength of curing systems were investigated too. The results show that the introduction of HBP into the Epoxy/Anhydride curing system can accelerate the curing reactions. The mechanical performance of cured systems can be improved well with the introduction of low content HBP. When the content of G3-HBP in epoxy/anhydride curing system is 3%, the increases of tensile strength, elongation and impact strength of cured system are 20.54%, 71.14% and 41.01% respectively.
