Abstract
This paper proposes a novel method for the optimal filtering of linear FM signal based on the fractional Fourier transform. First, an optimal filtering operator on the continuous fractional Fourier domain is provided according to the orthogonality principle about the linear minimum mean square error (MSE) estimation, and then, a discrete algorithm of the filtering operator is further proposed. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the performance of the proposed filtering algorithm is very close to that of the Wiener filtering, while this filtering algorithm is simple in computation and easy in implementation.
