Study of piston's transient temperature-field distributing orderliness for heavy duty engines

摘要

Using ANSYS software, a 3-D finite element model of certain heavy duty 150 engine's piston was built. The temperature field and thermal stress field under transient-state and quick cold start conditions were calculated respectively. Calculating results indicates that transient-state temperature on the edge of top area waves most acutely in the range of 22°C and the transient thermal stress is on the same amount grade with the steady-state one, temperatures of the piston went up according to exponential rule during the course of quick cold start, and this appended thermal stress resulted from a speedy movement of the temperature is one of the factors that induced heat damnification of the top area, which should not be slighted.
