摘要
Based on the analysis of brittle objects fragmentation in the real world, a new approach was proposed to simulate realtime fracturing effect in the virtual environment. Brittle objects were represented by triangular surface mesh model and the triangles were stored in a BSP tree structure in order to achieve rapid classification and retrieval. Plane was used to cut the model, then the polygons were reconstructed and a new complete triangular model was generated. Position, speed and angle of each preprocessed triangle were initialized in order to achieve real-time simulation, and collision detection was hired to avoid penetration of each fragment.
