Influence of firing order on intake air nonuniformity for turbocharged diesel engine

摘要

A thermodynamic model for a turbocharged V-type eight-cylinder diesel engine was established and calibrated to investigate the dependence of intake air nonuniformity on various firing orders corresponding to different crank shaft structures. Results indicate that each firing order results indifferent intake pressure fluctuation in front of the intake valves causing different degrees of intake air nonuniformity. Of them, the intake air nonuniformity for the plane crankshaft is smallest and that for others, e.g. the cross, twin and mixed ones, are larger.
