An electric-hydraulic propulsion system for the urban rail train energy saving

摘要

An electric-hydraulic propulsion system for the urban rail transit system is proposed. The double action hydraulic variable displacement pump/motor is utilized in the system. The hydraulic accumulator is employed to recover and release the regenerative braking energy. The results show that the system can save energy and ensure a great economic benefit. The system can satisfy the dynamic requirements of the train. A control method of the hydraulic accumulator is proposed. Due to the stable cycle of the urban rail transit system, the advantages of the system such as the high power density can be maximized. The simulated results indicate that the energy recovery efficiency at the braking stage is more than 50%. The energy saving efficiency of the system at the driving stage is more than 30%. The save energy in the one cycle of the urban rail system is considerable.
