Abstract

Based on the electromechanical-dynamic equations of the plate with piezoelectric network, it is analyzed the characteristics of the bending wave propagating in the plate, and found that there are different dispersion properties of bending waves in plate for different piezoelectric networks. There exist a frequency- veering phenomena on the diagram of dispersion curves of bending waves propagating in the plates with piezoelectric network; Attenuation constant of bending wave reaches the maximum value or grow rapidly in the frequency veering zones. This result provides a reference for the design of reduction of vibration and noise. An analysis of energy of the system shows that mechanical energy and electric energy will exchange maximum in the frequency veering zones. In addition the sound transmission loss of the plate with piezoelectric network is analyzed. It is found that the inductance of the network can make the coincidence-effect zones change or vanish. The sound insulation mechanism of the plate with piezoelectric network is revealed, which could benefit the design of the sound insulation of the plate with piezoelectric network.
