Topology-based 3D explosion field visualization

Abstract

Implementation technique of topological structure for 3D explosion field was studied. The technique ensures that the complex information of 3D explosion field can be described correctly, and the output result shares clarity and simplicity. The technique detects critical points quickly, which are classified according to the eigenvalues of their Jacobian matirx. And based on the eigenvectors of their Jacobian matirx, separatrices(separation lines and separation surfaces) are obtained. Finally, by drawing the critical point icons and the separatrics, the topological structure of 3D explosion field is shown clearly. Test results show that topology analysis can quickly extract the key features of explosion fields and improve the efficiency of visualization.
