Abstract

In terms of the relationship between fractional correlation and two-dimensional correlation function, fractional correlation is introduced to the computation of the polar representation of two-dimensional correlation function. A new algorithm for passive radar MTD based on fractional correlation is presented. The advantage of the algorithm is that target scanning can be done in certain circular sector of the two-dimensional plane in the polar form. Meanwhile, the location and grid density of the sector can be adjusted by the Chirp-Z transform. This decreases the computation cost and makes the target detection more flexible. The simulation results also prove the effectiveness and practicality of the algorithm.
