Abstract
The formation of a mononuclear molybdenum(VI) complex [MoO 2{O(CH2)2S(CH2)2OH} (OSiBu'Ph2)] (2) derived from its binuclear precursor [MoO 2{O(CH2)2S(CH2)2O}] 2 (1) by a silylation reaction accompanied by the conversion of methanol to chloromethane is reported.
