Abstract

PET was used to improve the properties of GAP by means of copolymeration with TDI, and the prepolymer was introduced to double base propellant binder films. Experimental results show that GAP/PET-TDI/NG/NC system film with preferable mechanical properties can be obtained when the content of GAP is between 0.50 and 0.67. σm and εm could reach 1.20 MPa and 273.7% respectively, and the binder cross-linking density of the network could be improved by increasing R value; Tg1 and Tg2 of GAP/PET-TDI/NG/NC system films drop from -34.8°C and 103.3°C to -47.5°C and 90.6°C respectively as the mass fraction of PET increases from 0.00% to 16.65%. Results show that Tg of films could be reduced by PET in a certain range.
