Abstract
A review covers research of dimethyl ether (DME) application in areas of vehicle fuel, domestic fuel, fuel cell, and as raw material of producing low carbon-number olefins and fine chemicals; and a future energy-chemical industry system model in which DME plays a central role for obtaining energy from different resources and offering various down stream applications.
