Abstract

The online transaction processing testing benchmark, TPC-C, was introduced, which was used to measure the performance of online transaction processing (OLTP) system and the performance to cost ratio. The design and implementation of TPC-C testing database on the object-oriented database management system, Fish, in NOPC (network of PC) environment were presented. The major factors that affect the performance of database system were verified and analyzed by the experiments, in which the maximum qualified throughput (MQTh) as evaluated index is used to describe the capacity of OLTP.
