Wang Guoren, male, born in May 1966, PhD, professor, doctoral supervisor, member of the Discipline Review Group of The State Council, member of the expert review group of the Information Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and deputy chairman of the Database Professional Committee of China Computer Society. Selected as national leading talents, awarded the honorary title of "young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions". He received his bachelor's, Master's and Doctor's degrees in Computer science from Northeastern University in 1988, 1991 and 1996, respectively.
He has presided over more than 20 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, key projects of Guangdong Joint Fund, and national 863 program projects. He won 10 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, including the second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress, the first Prize of Liaoning Province Science and Technology Progress, the second prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education, and the second Prize of Natural Science of Liaoning Province.
The doctoral students under my supervision have won 2 National Hundred Outstanding Thesis nomination Awards, 2 Excellent doctoral theses of Liaoning Province, and 1 excellent thesis of China Computer Society.
Each year, 1 to 2 doctoral students and 3 to 4 master students are recruited. Students who are interested in database research are welcome to join the research group.

Uncertain data management, data-intensive computing, visual media data management and analysis, unstructured data management, distributed query processing and optimization techniques (mainly including sensor networks and P2P peer-to-peer computing), bioinformatics, etc.
