Abstract

Optical phase modulator based on OIL-VCSEL is investigated for the first time. Simulation shows a directly modulated OIL-VCSEL can function as a key component in QPSK or 8PSK transmitters. Preliminary phase-shift-keying characteristic is demonstrated experimentally.
