Abstract

For an annular shaped charge warhead which penetrates annularly in the axial direction, the annular linear liner is not massively symmetrical in its inner and outer walls of liner, resulting in the deviated annular jet. In this paper a new concept of design is proposed, based on the equivalent momentum of both parts of the liner at its collision point along the axis. A theoretical calculation is presented according to the mass compensation of the liner parts. Designation and penetration test were carried out for the case of dissymmetrical width and one side constant width. The results showed that the improved annular liner shaped charge have an obviously increased penetration depth. This new design method is proved to be reasonable and practical.
