Abstract

A new method of incorporating corner information for mouth feature extraction is proposed. Based on deformable template, corner energy terms, which are based on the corner information that has been ignored in previous methods, is proposed for mouth feature extraction. The corner energy function can reflect the properties of mouth corners and teeth region effectively. Experimental results show the new method is robust.
