Abstract

In present work, the Ti422 (Ti-4.5Al-2.5V–2Fe) alloy with transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) effect was designed. The combined effects of the α martensite and the mechanical twining leading to simultaneous enhancement of strength and ductility, which lead the alloy achieved an ultra high strain hardening rate (SHR: 8.8 GPa), as well as an excellent match between ultimate strength (UTS: 1369 MPa) and total elongation (EL: 19.1 %).
