Abstract

A high power space laser transmission system based on a monolithic multi-cell GaAs converter capable of supplying 10 W electricity with a high efficiency of 42.3% is demonstrated. The dependencies of the converter's efficiency on wavelength, laser power and temperature are measured and analyzed.
