Abstract

Based on the multi-channel cross-relation, an adaptive second-order statistics blind identification algorithm is presented to estimate the direction of the direct wave for a microphone array in the multipath environment. To eliminate the constant modulus constraint on the weight vectors inherited in existing similar methods, the robust and unconstrained normalized-least-mean-squares adaptive filter is utilized to blindly estimate the time delay parameter of the direct wave between array elements. The effectiveness of the algorithm under the conditions of multipath is verified by theoretical analysis and simulation results.
