Abstract

To address this issue and guarantee the quality of embedded software, research on how to establish a pure software based target hardware runtime environment as to replace the real one was conducted. The core simdsp55x is an interpretive and execution driven virtual machine. According to the architecture of TI's TMS320C55x DSP, the mechanisms for virtual memory management, object file loading, instruction decoding and interrupts handling of simdsp55x had been described. To meet the practical application, a number of new features had been added.
