Design and numerical simulation of charge curve of focusing warhead

Abstract

In order to study the design method of the charge curve of focusing warhead, based on the Shapiro formula, the scattering angle model of the fragments in focusing warhead is established. The dispersion characteristics of fragment sites of focusing warhead such as the width of the focusing band are analysed, and the calculation method of fragments' focusing area is proposed. Based on the assumption of normal distribution and the position relationship between the fragments' configuration and hitting points, the design method of the charge curve of the focusing warhead is proposed. Based on Ansys numerical simulation platform, the numerical simulation research on the fragmentation dispersion process of focusing warhead is carried out. The results of numerical simulation are in good agreement with those of theoretical calculation.
