Abstract

Target angle estimation plays a significant role in the field of radar detection. However, current electromagnetic environment is becoming increasingly complex, where the mainlobe interference would dramatically decrease the performance of radar angle estimation. This paper proposed a method of angle estimation based on maximum likelihood estimation for mainlobe interference suppression scenarios. An angle estimation loss function after spatial filtering is derived, and the target angle is estimated by minimizing the loss function. The effectiveness of proposed method is illustrated by simulations.
