Abstract

A uniform cross-speed model of end-face seal ring with spiral grooves for wet clutch is developed in this paper. The uniform model considers the asperity contact, hydrodynamic effect of spiral groove and cavitation effect. The asperity contact of rough surfaces is modeled by means of fractal theory, the mixed lubricating model taking into account the centrifugal effect is given based on average flow model and the cavitation model is built by using the JFO boundary condition. The influences of speed and closing pressure are studied by simulating. And test results show good agreement with simulation.
