Abstract

In order to improve the shift quality of automatic mechanical transmission (AMT), the engine control during gear shifting process is divided into speed control mode and torque control mode based on the analyses on the ideal speed and torque curves of engine, and a CAN bus-based engine control strategy for gear shifting is worked out. The results of test on Unimog U4000 vehicle show that the engine control strategy proposed meets the requirement of real-timeness with shorter shift time and less vehicle speed losses.
