Abstract

A high sensitivity double-band resonance sensor based on a planar microstrip structure is proposed for complex permittivity measurements of liquids. Two split-ring resonators (SRRs) are combined with a microstrip line to expand the operating bandwidth. The sensor employs an array of interdigital capacitors (IDCs) to achieve higher sensitivity. Validation tests conducted on methanol-ethanol liquid mixtures reveal that the measurement accuracy of the new sensor meets the requirements.
