Abstract

In the title compound, (C15H12N3O)[Cr(C15H10N3O)(NCS)3]·CH4O, the Cr^III atom is coordinated by two N atoms and one O atom from the tridentate 1-(2-pyridyldiazen-yl)-2-naphthol-ate (PAN) ligand and three N atoms from thio-cyanate ions in a distorted octa-hedral arrangement. Another uncoordinated and protonated PAN mol-ecule and a methanol solvent mol-ecule are present in the asymmetric unit. The crystal packing is stabilized by π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation 3.594 (4) Å] and O - H⋯N and O - H⋯S hydrogen bonds.
