Abstract
With the increasing accuracy of radar measurement requirements, the radar system must transmit wideband signals to achieve high resolution. However, in practice, hardware may introduce phase distortions to wideband signals. The distortions will increase the range sidelobes and degrade system performance. To solve this problem, a novel method is proposed to compensate the phase distortion for linear frequency modulation signals. The effectiveness and engineering achievability of the proposed method are verified with the hardware system. Finally, the experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively compensate the phase distortion of wideband signals and reduce the range sidelobes.
