Abstract
Combustion instability is a complex phenomenon affecting the development of solid rocket motors. Aiming at combustion instability, the basic principles of suppression methods on acoustic combustion instability of motor were expounded from three perspectives: increasing the acoustic energy loss, reducing the acoustic energy gain and changing the inherent frequency of motora-coustic cavity mode. At the same time, from the perspective of engineering application, the suppression methods were classified as: adjusting the solid propellant formulation, changing the motor structure and assembling the suppression mechanical device. The combustion instability suppression methods and related engineering application examples at home and abroad were introduced and summarized in detail. The influencing factors of combustion stability of solid rocket motor under complex flight conditions were analyzed. It is helpful to design effective suppression measures for different types of pressure oscillations, thus providing design reference for researchers.
