摘要
Velocity measurement and compensation are the key techniques of high resolution radar signal processing. Nowadays two kinds of signals usually are simultaneously utilized in the radar system: the narrow-band signal for measuring velocity and the wideband signal only for imaging, which lead to more complexity and lower efficiency. A novel method for velocity measurement based on high resolution range profile cross-correlation is proposed firstly. Two modes defined as real envelope cross-correlation and complex envelope cross-correlation are brought forward in detail, and the theoretical performance is presented. Both theory analysis and simulation show that although range profile with serious spreading and distortion, complex envelope cross-correlation processing can still receive high accurate estimation and good anti-noise performance without rough motion compensation. It can make some crucial functions such as real-time independent velocity measurement and compensation possible.
