The energy absorption mechanism and analysis method of steel/fiber composite plate against fragment impact at projectile velocity

摘要

The theoretical analysis method of steel/fiber composite plate against fragment projectile velocity impact is studied. Fragment simulating projectile (FSP) is used as fragment in the experiment, which is launched by a 12.7 mm ballistic gun to impact the 4 mm steel/12 mm aramid composite plate and 5mm steel/10mm aramid composite plate. The damage characteristics of the different composite structures are analyzed according to the experimental result and phenomenon, and the destruction patterns and energy absorption mechanism of the steel-faced aramid laminated composite plates are also analyzed. An analysis model for the unit surface density energy absorption of the steel/aramid composite plate against fragment impact at projectile velocity is built based on the energy and momentum conservation theory.
