Research on modular station design to enhance the sense of decency in outdoor work environments

摘要

Under the advocacy of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals of decent work for all, it is particularly important to create a more decent working environment for outdoor workers. First, this study proposed possible directions for design by investigating and the needs of outdoor workers for a decent working environment, the current status and shortcomings of related research and practical assistance, as well as the research status of urban public facilities design. Then, based on the previous research and analysis, a modular urban post station was designed to enhance their sense of decency in outdoor work environments by meeting basic needs of outdoor workers during the work process. Finally, the effectiveness of the design was evaluated through structural equation model. The results indicated that the safety and convenience of the work environment significantly positively affected the sense of decency in it. Therefore, the modular station designed can improve the safety and convenience of the work environment by meeting the real-time needs of outdoor workers during their work process, thereby effectively enhancing the sense of decency in the work environment. It provides a method reference for providing decent work in outdoor public spaces, and enriches relevant research in the field of urban public facility design.
